  Bio

Born in Liverpool England a couple of miles from John Lennon & Paul McCartney, Robert Edwards has played and recorded since he was 12. As a child, his father bought him his first train set in Penny Lane.

He immigrated to America with his family as a young lad steeped in the British music revolution. Not long after arriving, he was performing as a bass player, vocalist, and songwriter with the Early Morning Blues Band and then later with Penrod in late the 60s & 70s.

His bands have performed all over the USA, opening for Linda Ronstadt, Frank Zappa, It’s a Beautiful Day, Quicksilver, Steve Miller, Chambers Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Velvet Underground, the Coasters, Lee Michaels, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Electric Flag, Grateful Dead, Albert Collins, and Chubby Checker among others.

Today, Robert draws on his Celtic heritage of Scottish, Irish and Welsh roots to infuse his music and wit with a flavor all his own. His experience with rock and roll, world music, and love of Celtic melodies have created a sound linking the past to the present.

Robert is a prolific songwriter and composer. He has written and composed music for plays, musicals and film.

Over the years, along with fine-tuning his recording skills and ears, he has incorporated midi technology into his recording and engineering. He has also expanded his musical talents to play electric & acoustic guitar, mandolin, upright bass, drums, drum machines and keyboards.

Robert enjoys living in beautiful San Diego with his dog Fionn, and three cats. When he is not recording, he likes to swim and practice martial arts.
